A new Oregon law known as Jenna's Law took effect January 1, 2014. This law requires all coaches and umpires to receive annual training to learn how to recognize the symptoms of a concussion and how to seek proper medical treatment for a person suspected of having a concussion. This training is required of all WCLL managers, coaches and asst. coaches.
The free online training can be completed by visiting the website:
Once completed please email your certificate to: email@example.com
It's that time of year again! Evaluations will be held again at Sunset High School Gymnasium on Saturday, March 1st and Sunday, March 2nd from
12:30 - 2:30, and 2:30 - 3pm for pitcher and catchers. Only one day is required, but you may attend both days.
Who should attend?
• Evaluations are for new and returning players trying out for Triple A & Majors Levels
• New players to the league -- 4th grade and above, ONLY
• Players moving up to a new age bracket: i.e. players playing at Triple A & Majors for the first time
Triple A & Majors Coaches should plan on attending evaluations.
Please try to have your child at Sunset High School Gym at 12:15; all players are required to stay through the conclusion of the evaluations at 2:30 or 3:00 for
pitchers and catchers. All players will receive a number to wear on their back. They will go through a series of hitting and fielding stations while being evaluated. Parents may not enter the gym while their child is being evaluated. Parents are not required to stay for the duration, but must be back before 2:30.
Please have your child wear appropriate athletic attire (i.e. no jeans). Sneakers are required, no cleats. Every player should bring water, and their softball equipment (i.e. glove, helmet and bat). Catchers should bring their gear if they have it. If players do not have their own bat, helmet or catching gear, it will be supplied.
The purpose of evaluations is to establish playing levels and balance teams. It is very important for league placement that you make every effort to have your child attend evaluations. If you have any questions, please contact: Telia Rusin. As a reminder, Willow Creek Little League will not deny any girl the opportunity to play.
